I usually have a clean at the same time as my checkup. Why is the checkup consultation separated from the cleaning?

If you go regularly to see a dentist and your teeth and gums are in good condition, it is more than likely that we will be able to fit in a clean on the same appointment.

However, we often find that it has been a while (often years) since most of our new patients have been to see a dentist and would value having one of our dentists take the time to listen to your concerns and have the opportunity to explain your condition clearly. Even those who have been regularly attending a dentist often do not understand what is happening in their mouths.

What are our payment options?

We offer HICAPS facility which allows you to claim your rebate from your private health fund instantly and only pay the difference between the rebate and the full amount.

Please ensure that you bring your current health fund membership card to every dental appointment.

Payment for services can be settled with cash, EFTPOS, Visa and MasterCard credit and debit cards.

What is the child benefit scheme?

The Child Dental Benefits Schedule provides capped benefit entitlement for basic dental services for children aged 2-17 in families who meet a means test. The means test will be the same as the existing Medicare Teen Dental Plan, which requires receipt of Family Tax Benefit Part A or other certain government payments.

Services for basic essential dental treatment, such as check-ups, x-rays, fillings and extractions will be included, and patients will have access to dental benefit entitlements capped (indexed annually) over a two calendar year period. For 2014, the benefit is capped at $1000 per child. Benefits are not available for orthodontic or cosmetic dental work.

Most of the services under this scheme will be bulk billed, including your initial consultation and x-rays. After your initial consultation, if any services require out-of-pockets expenses for you, we will advise you of the costs involved.

When making your appointment, please let us know if you are eligible for the scheme and provide us with your child’s medicare card number and individual reference number. This will allow for us to check your eligibility before their appointment. It would be helpful for you to bring any relevant paperwork to your appointment.
